Note:
Most of these usergroups do not exist on actual Fandom sites. I just decided to create a list of "possible" customised usergroups. For example, having additional usergroups with, say more tools than Rollbackers but fewer tools than Sysops, since there's a lot of things an administrator can do that a rollback can't, yet there weren't any such usergroups in between when I first created this page.

Fictional Local User Groups

Junior Admins

Junior Admins is a fictional usergroup that is between rollbackers and sysops. They have access to most of the sysop tools that appear on the surface, apart from some of the ones that were recently introduced. The Junior Admin usergroup is considered to be a replacement of the User Group A, User Group B, and User Group C usergroups. Unlike Administrators, Junior Admins cannot upload a maximum of 20 images at once. They cannot upload any more images at once than a non-administrator can.

Deluxe Administrators

Main article: Deluxe Administrators

Deluxe Administrators is a fictional usergroup that serves as an extension of the Administrator usergroup. It reinstates the Administrator's abilities to bypass rate limits[1], import pages from other wikis[2], and edit, move, delete, and undelete all system messages[3], as well as editing other user's CSS and JavaScript data[4].

However it should be noted that editing other user's CSS and JavaScript data should be kept to a minimum and only for certain legitimate reasons, such as fixing broken links, and broken CSS and JavaScript data, and removing spam and hate messages (should they ever be found in other user's CSS and JavaScript pages.

Most other uses are considered illegitimate, and are likely to be considered misuse of the abilities that Deluxe Administrators have been granted with, which may hint at why those abilities were removed from the Administrator usergroup in the first place.

Deluxe Administrators also have the ability to show and hide the contents of specific revisions, the edit summaries of the revisions, the names of the users/IP addresses that made the edits, or any combination of those three[5], mass delete pages[6], quickly revert and delete spam and vandalism using quicktools[7], and edit interlanguage links[8].

Deluxe Administrators are also able to access a list of wikis with enabled extensions[9], bypass all abuse filters[10], create and edit platinum badges[11], limit actions that can be performed for some groups for a limited time[12], set the default skin[13], and update special pages[14].

The Deluxe Administrator usergroup also reinstates the Administrator's abilities to override spoofing checks on account renaming[15], even though this ability is largely considered useless by users, hence why the ability was removed from administrative usergroups.

The Deluxe Administrator usergroup also has the ability to delete selective revisions of a certain page, which saves them the trouble of having to delete pages and then restore the desired revisions[16]. They are also able to move category pages[17], and merge the histories of pages.

User Rights Security

User Rights Security is a fictional usergroup that has the ability to revoke bureaucrat rights from candidates that have been voted down by community consensus.

Generally this usergroup is unavailable on local communities, but on sites where multiple issues involving bad bureaucrats that are refusing to step down freely have occurred, user rights security access can be considered.

User Rights Security can only have their rights revoked by themselves, or Fandom Utilities, and they can only be promoted by Fandom Utilities.

Blockers

Blockers is a fictional usergroup that has the ability to block and unblock users. They also have the ability to bypass IP blocks, auto-blocks and range blocks. Their main purpose is to help keep the wiki clear of disruptive users, more or less similar to the way Chat Moderators kick and ban disruptive users from chat.

Blockers are able to block and unblock any user, but unlike Administrators and Bureaucrats, they cannot unblock themselves. The reason they can't unblock themselves is because Chat Moderators cannot unban themselves if an Administrator bans them. And so I thought that if a Blocker is blocked, they shouldn't be able to unblock themselves if an Administrator blocked them legitimately.

Patrollers

Patrollers are a fictional usergroup that is based on existing custom usergroups on other wikis, of the same name. As the usergroup name implies, they mark other user's edits as patrolled, and have their own edits automatically marked as patrolled.

There are many versions of this custom usergroup, including on external sites outside Fandom. Some known Fandom version examples of the custom usergroup can be found here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here.

From late January until April 2016 I was under the impression that such a usergroup may previously have existed on the Community Central Wiki. However recent re-traces of some of my sandbox archives of past usergroups information from 2014 and 2015, along with archives of the Special:ListGroupRights page on the Community Central Wiki confirm that this was not the case, and that my mind was playing tricks on me.

Assistants

Assistants are a fictional usergroup that is based on the existing custom usergroup of the same name on the Encyclopedia SpongeBobia. It serves as a position between Rollbackers and Administrators. It is sort of similar to the Content Moderator usergroup which was introduced in January 2016. An extended version of the Assistant usergroup exists on this wiki.

Forum Moderators

Forum Moderators are a fictional usergroup that is based on previously existing custom usergroups on other wikis, of the same name. As the usergroup name implies, they have additional tools to help them to moderate the forums.

They have all the tools extended to the Thread Moderator usergroup, before it was expanded into the Discussion Moderator usergroup. Forum Moderators are also able to edit the old forum archives, even if the new forums are enabled.

Because Forum Moderators are able to access Template:Announcements, they have also subsequently given Administrators' dashboard access.

Comment Controllers

Comment Controllers are a fictional usergroup that is based on the existing custom usergroup of the same name on the Thomas and Friends Wiki. As the name of the usergroup implies, users belonging to that group have the ability to delete article comments and blog comments. I actually had previously considered this custom usergroup for this wiki.

Image Controllers

Image Controllers are a fictional usergroup that is based on the existing custom usergroup of the same name on the Thomas and Friends Wiki. As the name of the usergroup implies, users belonging to that group have the ability to move files, delete pages, edit blog articles, and move pages without leaving redirects. I actually had previously considered this custom usergroup for this wiki.

Autopatrolled Users

Autopatrolled is a fictional usergroup that is based on existing custom usergroups on other wikis, of the same name. As the name of the usergroup implies, users belonging to that group have the ability to have their own edits automatically marked as patrolled.

There are several versions of this custom usergroup, including on external sites outside Fandom. A version of the Autopatrolled usergroup, without the ability to self-revoke one's Autopatrolled rights exists on The Sims Wiki, and on this wiki.

Emailconfirmed Users

Emailconfirmed Users are a fictional usergroup that is based on the existing custom implicit usergroup of the same name on the Community Central Wiki. As the name of the usergroup implies, users implicitly belonging to that group have confirmed their email in their preferences.

With this permission, Emailconfirmed Users had the ability to email other users if they had opted to allow other users to email them, as well as requesting lost password information. They also have the ability to access chat, since Registered Users that aren't implicitly part of the group can't access chat on the Community Central Wiki.

Emailconfirmed Users are also able to perform CAPTCHA-triggering actions without having to go through the CAPTCHA.

Fictional Global User Groups

Look Up Contributions

Look Up Contributions is a fictional global usergroup that is based on the existing custom usergroup of the same name on the Community Central Wiki. As the name of the usergroup implies, users belonging to that group have the ability to view user's edits across all Fandom.

Look Up Users

Look Up Users are a fictional global usergroup that is based on the existing custom usergroup of the same name on the Community Central Wiki. As the name of the usergroup implies, users belonging to that group have the ability to view user's preferences across all Fandom.

WDAC Reviewers

WDAC Reviewers are a fictional global usergroup that is based on the previously existing custom usergroup of the same name on the Community Central Wiki. As the name of the usergroup implies, users belonging to that group have the ability to access the COPPA review tool.

User Rollbackers

Main article: User Rollbackers

User Rollbackers are a fictional global usergroup. They are experienced and trusted vandal fighters that have rollback permissions across all of Fandom. They also have access to the userrollback extension which allows them to quickly revert multiple edits by specified users from all affected wikis.[18] Please note that while User Rollbackers have access to the rollback tool, they do not replace local rollbackers on wikis. They also do not pose as local rollbackers unless they are flagged as local rollbackers.

User Rollbackers are just users that can be trusted with tools to revert vandalism when they see it and there are no local administrators or rollbackers around. They can also come in handy when it comes to reverting vandalism on quiet or inactive wikis where there are no active administrators or rollbackers around, and there are no VSTF around to take bigger action against cross wiki vandalism pronto.

While User Rollbackers can delete pages, article comments, message wall messages, pages with large histories, and comments on blog articles, they are not allowed to use any of these tools except in circumstances to help aid with quickly reverting all edits of specified users from all wikis. Aside from these circumstances, they are not allowed to delete pages unless they have administrator or content moderator rights.

They are not allowed to delete message wall messages unless they have administrator rights. They are not allowed to delete article comments unless they have administrator, content moderator, or discussion moderator rights. And they are not allowed to delete comments on blog articles or remove wall threads unless they have administrator or discussion moderator rights.

Past Fictional Local User Groups

User Group A

The User Group A usergroup is no longer active. It has been discontinued.

User Group A was a fictional usergroup that was between rollbackers and sysops. They had access to many of the sysop tools, apart from the ones that were introduced in 2015 onward. They had all the tools that User Group C had, and most of the tools that User Group B had.

User Group A had the ability to edit protected pages, yet they couldn't change protection levels which wouldn't have been possible with default usergroups. The reason for this was because at the time of this page's creation, I was unaware that the abilities to edit protected pages and change protection levels on Fandom weren't separate by default. However the ability to edit protected pages without cascading protection has been added on certain wikis.

User Group B

The User Group B usergroup is no longer active. It has been discontinued.

User Group B was a fictional usergroup that was between rollbackers and sysops. They had access to many of the sysop tools, apart from the ones that were introduced in 2015 onward. They also didn't have the abilities to delete pages, or to block and unblock users. They had all the tools that User Group C had, and most of the tools that User Group A had. They had slightly fewer tools than User Group A, but they had access to a few tools that User Group A did not.

User Group C

The User Group C usergroup is no longer active. It has been discontinued.

User Group C was a fictional usergroup that was between rollbackers and sysops. They had access to many of the sysop tools, apart from the ones that were introduced in 2015 onward. They also didn't have the abilities to delete pages, or to block and unblock users. They had access to many tools, though they had fewer tools than User Group A and User Group B.

User Group C had the ability to edit protected pages, yet they couldn't change protection levels which wouldn't have been possible with default usergroups. The reason for this was because at the time of this page's creation, I was unaware that the abilities to edit protected pages and change protection levels on Fandom weren't separate by default. Notes

  • This page was created in December 2014, before I first discovered the new usergroup Assistants which had been added to the Encyclopedia SpongeBobia in February 2015, and requested that the usergroup was added on this wiki in April 2015. I am very happy to have it as a usergroup on this wiki, and that it fulfills my want to have a usergroup in between Administrators and Rollbackers.
